Don’t normal people go out on Friday nights and do stuff?  I’m so boring.  Oh well, at least I’m not bored.  (That would be terrible.)

Walter and I watched Brave today, and while it was cute we both came to the conclusion that it was particularly average as movies go.  That just seems so strange to me, because Disney movies are always epic.  Aren’t they?  When I hear Disney, I think of Mulan, Sleeping Beauty, Beauty and the Beast, and The Little Mermaid.  Even Tangled and The Princess and the Frog were great.  But Brave falls short, to me at least.  I’m not saying I’ll never watch it again, but it certainly isn’t one of my favorites.  It isn’t epic.

You know… when I was writing during November, I felt desperate to start reading again all month long.  And what have I read so far since I finished the first draft of my novel on November 30th?  The Hobbit.  That’s it.  And I only read it because I was going to see the movie and I hadn’t read it since I was in high school.

(( The movie?  BEST MOVIE I HAVE EVER SEEN IN MY LIFE.  TWICE. More on that another time. ))

So what do I read now?  This whole year has been a year of rereading.  After losing my mom I think I just wanted the comfort of the known, so I fell back on reading the books that I knew would take me away to some magical place I’d already been to (some a few times).  And then I started to read those romance novels she hoarded (people, my mom hoarded them for reals), which is what inspired me to write the story I wrote.  Sort of.  But now what?  Do I want to keep on reading more romance?  Do I want to try reading something new?  WHAT IF I DON’T LIKE THE BOOK I CHOOSE?¹  Am I the only person who feels obligated to finish reading something after I start, even if it is crap?  Why do I feel like this next book I pick to read is some monumental decision?  SOMEONE TELL ME WHAT TO READ.  Except don’t, because I probably won’t take your suggestion.¹

I guess I’ll just watch more Gossip Girl² until it’s way past my bedtime and then be cranky and tired at work all day tomorrow.  That’s pretty much how I roll every weekend anyway.

Also P.S.  I’m sorry if my Facebook and Twitter have been exploding with Tumblr posts today about things you probably don’t care about, whoever ‘you’ are.  Sometimes I forget to save things as drafts.  Oops.

Wait, what?

Forget I apologized.  It’s my blog and my Tumblr (and Twitter and Facebook).  I thing I’ll go post something else about how majestic Thorin is.

  1. Don’t judge me, I know I’m neurotic and strange.
  2. I’m only on season 5, so don’t ruin anything for me.
